
Anna Weis

Dr. Weiss completed general surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and subsequently a breast surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Her first faculty position was at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Her current position at University of Rochester is Associate Professor of Surgery and Medicine and the Director of the Breast Cancer Service Line, the Comprehensive Breast Care Center, and Program Lead for Breast Surgery. She is the inaugural Pluta Professor of Breast Care. Additionally, she serves as an Executive Officer for the Alliance, one of the country’s leading collaborative clinical trial groups. In this role, she has emerged nationally as a surgical clinical trialist.

Her approach to cancer care includes a focus on shared decision making, presenting all the information (which is constantly changing!) to every patient, and coming up with the right plan for the individual.
