Siún Walsh

Siún Walsh is a consultant surgeon in the Mater Hospital, Dublin with a specific interest and training in oncoplastic breast surgery. She graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2005. Following completion of basic surgical training she completed an MD in breast cancer research. The theme of her research was targeted therapy for triple negative breast cancer.

 

She specialised in general and breast surgery in Ireland and then completed a breast surgery oncology fellowship in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, in New York. She was appointed as consultant breast surgeon in Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in 2018. She also works for the BreastCheck, the national breast cancer screening program and is actively involved in surgical training and ongoing breast cancer research. She is currently president  of the Society of Irish Breast Surgeons.
